David Freedman is the co-founder of Freestar, a managed service that simplifies the challenges of website monetization to help publishers and e-commerce sites reach their true revenue potential. Since Freestar’s inception in 2015, the company has seen an explosive growth of 36,680 percent for 2018 and earned the number one position on Inc.’s Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2019.
A 15-year veteran in the digital advertising and publishing space, Freedman’s entrepreneurial career began when he founded college calendar company, Tempe12 while at Arizona State University in 2004. He scaled the business to reach 21 other universities, giving away 500,000 copies a year and attracting millions of online viewers. It was from Freedman’s experience scaling and growing Tempe12 that he learned firsthand the pain points of publishers and how to overcome them, leading to his focus on digital advertising and later, to Freestar In 2013, Freedman also started and ran Salut Bar & Kitchen in Tempe, that he sold five years later.
Freedman is currently on the Advisory Board of SURF, a company that connects rideshare passengers with content via tablets, and is a Venture Mentor at Coplex, a Venture Builder that fosters high-growth tech companies. Freedman earned his B.S. in Business and Commercial Real Estate from Arizona State University.
